The Central Coast Highway from Erina to Wamberal is now complete but we still have the 60 kph speed limit.
The highway is the best road on the Central Coast, in most places six lanes across, passing through a predominantly rural area with very low pedestrian traffic.
Many people have expressed their views that such a major road should be at least 70 kph. All other arterial roads are 70 kph and most of these are two lane roads built 40 years ago. Of course school zones will still be adhered to but otherwise common sense tells us that 60 kph is too slow for the road. Because of the high police presence on the Central Coast Highway (it is their job to enforce the limits!) drivers are constantly looking at their speedometer. I believe this will cause accidents, people should be concentrating on their driving.
My two cents worth
